A well-crafted monument sign is the ultimate welcome.
How to Stand Out
Your sign isn’t just words. It’s also a way to convey who you are—and lighting it properly is key to attracting people and business.
Here’s where to start:
Make sure quotes include a lighting option. Too often, this is an afterthought. Lighting doesn’t just bring your message to life. It also improves the visibility of your building and its surroundings, especially at night. Whether you go with floodlights, internal bulbs, or another form of illumination, there’s a lighting solution that will make your sign pop.
Insist on a reputable fixture. Sign lighting should work in a variety of conditions while still offering clear, readable illumination. For example, Keystone LED floodlights include a 0-10V Keystone dimming driver, a built-in dusk-to-dawn photocell sensor, and rugged construction that’s IP65 rated for wet locations.
Ask for a lighting design. If you don’t have lighting design abilities in house, look for partners who can help do these tasks for you. For example, Keystone offers free lighting layouts.
Save with LEDs. LED floodlights require less wattage and lower maintenance, and many can be adjusted to change color temperature or power output. They’re an energy-saving and beautiful way to illuminate monument signage.
A Bright Road Ahead
But why stop with the sign?
LEDs remain a young technology with plenty of space to grow. Retrofitting outdoor legacy fixtures with LEDs can save money for clients—thanks to their energy savings—and make money for providers.
LED floodlights offer an opportunity for sign makers to introduce more outdoor lighting, in environments such as shopping centers, office parks, and parking lots.
Keystone is a name you know from our Sign Hero product. But we also make a broad range of outdoor lighting, including floodlights, wall packs, and area lights. We’ve seen first-hand how providing a solution in lighting signage leads to clients asking us about retrofitting and upgrading other properties.
Monument sign lighting is just a first step. Light the sign and you can light the way.
